Everyday everyone has to make choices between familiar dose and the new one.
The easiest thing on a particular day is to tell how some others in the seat power, with their decisions, spoil the things.
Hockey, unfortunately, is stuck with this disease.
Thankfully, I am not.
With the type of love and passion for hockey, it was but natural for me to get associated with One Thousand Hockey Leg (OTHL). My OTHL journey till now has been nothing less than gripping.
This OTHL association is not just for the heck of it. It brings with it its specific responsibilities and invisible sensibilities.
Working with web developer, read it as core supporter, followed by a visit to Pondicherry and then working for small-small things to give shape to the whole new idea has been a challenging task.
The next important juncture is round the corner now. I have a Pondicherry visit lined up. I have to make a lot of preparations before I go and have to keep my ears and eyes open to take stock of the situation – and move things in right way at right speed.
I am actually very excited about the impending visit. For it will be first time, in this project, I will see the hockey stick at the right place, i.e. in a young child's hand, searching for the ball.
During this journey, like in any journey, people have told me how your eventual aim is impossible. Similarly, I have had people who have told me how much they want to support me. I have no grudges with the first lot and I am indebted to the second.
It's just important for me not to lose focus, which is the need of the hour.
When confronted with too much testing comments, the only thing I can murmur is, 'Come, join me…."
Developing sustained passion for Hockey by introduction of Hockey to pre and early teenaged children and simultaneously promoting playing sport as a culture and tradition, thereby contributing to develop a sports loving society.
