Voluntarism is foundation on which the castle of One Thousand Hockey is sought to be built. We, in the Citizen Hockey Group, seek to reach volunteers through our website (othl.stick2hockey.com) to open hockey teams in schools, where the sport was not played in the recent past.
We made a significant inroad in our quest for nestling volunteers when a professional doctor contacted us for offering his services to OTHL-one of the early birds to come home to this site.

After nearly 16 years, I was a part of school assembly. The only difference was in my placement.
A shy student in my school days, this time I was on the dais this time with a child reading the news, one child reading the prayer and then Principal addressing the school.
I was at Vivekanand Higher Secondary School, Lawspet, Pondicherry.
As I was introduced, I was asked to say a few words. More than a thousand children were facing me. I was quite nervous.

Everyday everyone has to make choices between familiar dose and the new one.

Puducherry, Jan 8: It was a pleasant evening and the ride from Chennai to Puducherry went on smoothly. We reached Pondy (as this city is commonly known) by 10 pm and quickly settled down to catch up some sleep with great expectations of a morning where three out of the five schools were lined up for their tryst with hockey.
The morning was busy, with our host and local Project Coordinator of the One Thousand Hockey Legs, Mr Manickam, hurriedly transporting the sticks and other equipment t...
